Now onto those hot new looks…
Do Your Part. Apparent in the looks sported by Calvin Klein, Versace and Alexander Wang models, it’s out with the old and in with the new when it comes to parting your hair. This quick change to your normal hair routine will instantly update any style. Try a deep part on the opposite side for a strong statement or go straight down the middle for a sexy, sultry look. Parting tips:
- For a toned-down look, mist hair with Redken’s wax blast 10 high-impact finishing spray-wax to enhance texture, part hair on the side and mist on forceful 23 super strength finishing spray.
- For sexy center part, apply velvet gelatine 07 cushioning blow-dry gel, then set hair in large rollers to create loose waves.
- For a sleek ponytail with a deep side part, smooth on glass 01 smoothing serum for a high-shine finish and secure into a low ponytail. Mist iron silk 07 ultra straightening spray on the tail and flat-iron for a sleek, glossy finish.
High Rollers. Temps may be dropping but hair is definitely on the rise. From the unkempt, 60s-inspired volume on the Robert Cavalli catwalk to the voluptuously feminine waves worn by Chloé models, heightened hair is tops this winter. Hair-raising tips:
- If sexy, seductive waves are your goal, first apply Redken’s velvet gelatine 07 cushioning blow-dry gel, set hair in pin curls, then brush out the curls to create an airy, full-bodied shape.
- For hair inspired by the French actresses of the 50s and 60s, apply aerate 08 bodifying cream-mousse, blow-dry into hair, then backcomb at the crown to create extra body. Finish by brushing hair away from the face and let it fall over the “bump” at the crown. Finish with a mist of forceful 23 super strength finishing spray.
- For Bohemian-inspired volume, start with rootful 06 root lifting spray to add height to the silhouette, and created loose waves by wrapping sections around a curling iron.
French Kissed. For a night out on the town, nothing says glam like an artistic up-do. Prada, Yves Saint Laurent and Loewe drew inspiration for looks from classic French hairdressing. Think large modified buns with slicked back front, taught beehives and low-slung wrapped hair. These vintage chic look is a must have with any LBD. French tips:
- For a full-on chignon, use thickening lotion 06 body builder to prep hair, then lock in the high bun with generous amounts of forceful 23 super-strength finishing spray.
- For a modernized chignon, apply hardwear 16 super strong gel around the hairline to create a lacquer finish.
- The final touch for any sculpted updo: a shine-boosting hairspray like quick dry 18 instant finishing spray to keep your updo in control with a firm, non-fussy finish.
