Sensitive-skinned gals and natural skincare junkies might find their new Holy Grail beauty line in Scottsdale-based Whish Body. The local company has been featured in Marie Claire and InStyle for its organic body wash, shaving cream and scrubs that are free of sulfates and parabens.
The super indulgent Three Wishes Coconut Body Butter is a personal fave and conjures images of a tropical beach getaway complete with piña coladas. The antioxidant-based lotion moisturizers, firms and purifies with ingredients like organic raspberry butter (to fight free radicals), organic seaweed extract (loaded with skin firming peptides) and organic rice bran oil (which are thought to be effective in battling skin cancer and improving sun screen efficiency).
Despite being body butter, the formula is closer to a lotion in consistency, but is still moisturizing enough to leave my skin baby-smooth. And did I mention the dangerously yummy smell? If those aren’t enough reasons to scope out this local line, here’s one more: Phoenician Jesse Werner created Whish for his wife who loved his gentle and natural European shaving cream but yearned for a more pleasing scent.
After working with a product chemist and cosmetic manufacturer, Werner developed the shaving cream of his wife’s dreams. But that was just the beginning, as he went on to create a full line of natural and effective body care products at his wife’s request. If that’s not true love, I don’t know what is.
Three Wishes Coconut Body Butter is $24 for a 5-ounce bottle and can be purchased at whishbody.com.
