The Bomb Balm: ChapStick True Shimmer

When it comes to lip products we like to do it up big. We’ll go for anything with a high sheen gloss, bold shine and yes, even glitter. That’s why we were a little skeptical of whether the new ChapStick True Shimmer could bring on enough glam to meet our girly-girl standards. We busted open our individual packs of pink Botanical Berry, gold-hued Tropical and blue Peppermint Rush and dispersed the colorful tubes around our office. I was lucky enough to snag the peppermint flavor, which has since become a must-have staple in my makeup bag. The lightweight formula has a pretty, subtle shimmer, goes on smooth and tastes nothing like traditional medicated lip balm. Instead, it has a sweet mint taste and slight cooling tingle after it’s applied. I’ve been using it as a lipstick base and substitute for traditional gloss before the gym. It’s also great to slather on before bedtime because the tasty balm won’t leave messy lip imprints on your pillow and contains super moisturizing ingredients that soften lips through the night.
