Eek! I’m fading. I love a good spray tan but sometimes my skin needs a break … so does my wallet. But my blueish-white natural skin tone doesn’t go well with my summer wardrobe. When I want color but don’t have time to wait for a self-tanner to do its magic, I whip out the wash-off tan. My long-time go-to is Laura Mercier’s Body Bronzing Makeup. Gorgeous but too pricey and a little too Hollywood for everyday use. I’m digging the new Sublime Bronze Tinted Gel from L’Oreal Paris as an alternative. The dark caramel-hued gel goes on evenly, absorbs quickly and dries fast. It’s not a self-tanner so no smell – only a hint of fragrance. It leaves your skin with a pretty glow and tiny specs of illuminating gold. You can re-apply for deeper color but just a warning, be sure to wash your hands after application. The stuff really works and you need to use soap and water to remove the color. I haven’t been caught in the rain yet to test its staying power but I haven’t been able to sweat it off. And Lord knows with this heat, I’ve tried.
L’Oreal Sublime Bronze One Day Tinted Gel is available at most mass markets and drugstores for about $10.
