I’ve recently embarked on an insane fitness challenge that has me taking one 60-minute spin class every for 60 days in a row. By day 15 of the challenge, my body felt amazing but my hair felt horrible. After having to wash and blow out my already dry hair once and sometimes twice a day, it felt stringy and brittle.
So I decided to try the Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask, thanks to a recommendation from stylist.
I’ve already tried (and love) the original Moroccanoil Oil Treatment and the Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray is among our faves, so I was extremely optimistic about the Intense Hydrating Mask. The mask promises to repair damaged and dry hair to make it soft and manageable. It’s infused with argan oil and is rich in antioxidants to help prevent hair from environmental stresses and restore life to damaged hair.
All it takes is a teaspoon-sized amount to see a serious change. I used the mask three times a week for two weeks, leaving it on for 10 to 20 minutes after shampooing my hair (the directions say that you only need 5 to 10 minutes, but I felt like it was more effective when I left it on a bit longer). I’ve tried a LOT of deep conditioners, and most of them leave your hair feeling a little dirty afterward. The Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask doesn’t leave any residue in your hair, so it will still feel super clean. Even after day one of using the treatment, my hair felt much better after my normal blow dry. After two full weeks, I noticed that my hair felt not only smooth, but also felt thicker and less stringy.
You can purchase the Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask from most professional salons. The mask runs around $35 for the 8.5 oz jar.
