Spa Girls’ five-day guide to glowing inside and out.
Got a holiday shindig in your near future? Before you go rockin’ around the Christmas tree, make sure you’re prepped and ready so you can arrive with confidence.
Here’s our five-day beauty countdown to party perfect!
Day 1
Your mother was right. It’s what’s on the inside that counts. On day one of your party prep, start an internal beauty routine to keep hair and skin in shape. We love Beauty Foods nighttime drinks ($49.99) because they’re packed with all-natural ingredients like Vitamin A and Magnesium for healthy skin and overall wellbeing. And they taste good!
For shiny hair, it’s as easy as A-B-C. Just remember B for Biotin ($7.49). Biotin, AKA Vitamin B7, helps with protein production, which means pretty and strong locks.
Day 2
There’s nothing worse than a bad hair day for a major event. Combat limp, weighed down tresses by using a clarifying shampoo like Ouidad Water Works ($15) to get rid of product build-up. If your scalp needs a major refresher, consider using something like Ouidad’s Mediterranean Bay Leaf treatment ($36), which is basically a light exfoliating cream for hair follicles.
Top it all off with the Amika Nourishing Mask ($40) for some deep conditioning.
Day 3
You know what happens next, right? The dreaded hair removal. Waxing, shaving, tweezing – none of it is particularly fun. Thankfully, this step is slightly easier with Olay’s Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo($22.49). You’re left with beautifully smooth skin and no telltale red splotches.
Now’s the time to get your brows waxed, too, but if you need a quick cleanup before the party, arm yourself with the Tweezerman Slant Tweezer ($22). It’s popular with makeup artists because of its crazy-good precision.
Feeling the (razor) burn? Try Bliss Ingrown Hair Eliminating Peeling Pads ($53.20).
Day 4
Now comes the full-body scrub down. Hop in the shower and get down to business with the following: Farmhouse Fresh Fine Grain Salt Scrub ($23) for body and feet (mmm…sweet cream) and June Jacobs Perfect Pumpkin Enzyme Polish($60) for the face.
While the bathroom is still nice and steamy, apply a mineral-packed facial mask, like the Kerstin Florian Thermal Mood Mud Mask ($35). Once you’ve rinsed off your mask, step into some fresh air to apply St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Lotion ($40).
Day 5
It’ party time! With all the hard work behind you, today is all about the final touches.
Give skin one final brush-up with a light body exfoliator and seal the deal with a ton of moisture and just the right amount of shimmer, courtesy of Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Usage Dry Oil Golden Shimmer ($41).
Finally, pucker up for LATHER’s Lip Conditioning Balm ($8), a mini-makeover for your kisser with avocado and sweet almond oil.
Enjoy the party and happy holidays!
