Oh goddesses of long lustrous locks, bring us dry-haired, cotton-candy coiffed girls a miracle cure that merges luxury with super effective help for desperate hair. POOF! Enter Leonor Greyl Masque Quintessence — a fantasy hair treatment adorned in the prettiest packaging I have yet to ever to experience in a haircare line. Packed in a gold-rimmed white box, the masque comes in a reflective jar that looks much more like an upscale face cream than a haircare product. A twist of the square lid unleashes the most incredible floral aroma. You just want to lap up the thick, pudding-like formula with a spoon and eat it. But instead, you apply it sparingly to dry hair before shampooing, working it thoroughly through the length and ends of the hair. You leave it on for up to 20 minutes and then rinse well. Because I’m so addicted to the scent, I use it as a regular conditioner after shampooing too occasionally. But if you allow it to work on dry or damp hair as directed, it truly restores shine and softness. Leonor Greyl is new to me but apparently it’s been around for as long as I have with roots that stem back to the 1960s when it was first created by a husband and wife team. Some of original products are still among the most popular and sought after treatments by top stylists and celebs for their exotic oils, botanicals and flower essences. Maybe the only drawback of the Masque Quintessence is the hefty price tag, which is $137.50 but because the formula is so concentrated, a little goes a long way. And it IS our hair people. Made in France, the masque is free of sulfates, parabens and silicone and the packaging is recyclable. Find out more about Leonor Greyl at leonorgreyl-usa.com or buy it at beautybridge.com. P.S., This post is dedicated to our hair-obsessed intern Christie, who is truly the only person I know who reads this blog. Thanks for your fan-ship Christie and remind me to bring a big glob of this incredible hair masque to you next week!
