Have we told you lately that we love Lush? Oh, well then, let us give ya a few more reasons to put Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics on your list of happy, good karma things.
As part of its global public awareness campaign on palm oil and the devastation caused by its production, Vancouver-based Lush Cosmetics has introduced two new products that give back to charities immersed in protecting the indigenous tribes and wildlife of the rainforest.
All sales from Lush’s new limited-edition Jungle Soap ($5.95) will go to the Rainforest Foundation, which works with tribes to protect their forest homes from the destructive expansion of palm oil plantations in the region. Fans of Jungle solid hair conditioner will recognize the clean, grassy aroma.
Lush has also kicked off a new Charity Pot Hand and Body Lotion partnership with The World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA). The WSPA works with the Borneo Orangutan Society to protect endangered orangutans threatened by the deforestation practices of the palm oil industry. As Lush’s featured Charity Pot partner throughout the palm campaign, WSPA will get every penny of the $20.95 price (excluding taxes) generated from the sales of the skin-softening Charity Pot lotion.
And in keeping with their public awareness march, Lush has developed a soap base that does not contain palm oil after years of sudsy research. To commemorate the palm-free switch, Lush has introduced a limited availability Soap Wall ($19.95), a sampling of their nine top soaps made with the new palm-free soap base. The set includes best-sellers like Honey I Washed The Kids, Sexy Peel and Rock Star soaps.
Stay green clean and help keep the rainforests lush. What could be sweeter than that?
