Are you familiar with Shoedazzle? It’s an online club where you pay $29.99 per month for a virtual stylist that sends you the option of purchasing a new pair of shoes, a handbag or jewelry every 30 or so days. Well, Julep has taken this concept and refined it for the beauty world with their new Julep Maven program.
When you go to the Julep website, the first thing you do is take Style Quiz that asks you a bevy of questions based on lifestyle and personal beauty preferences. They also have some fun by asking you which celebrities red carpet style best mirrors your own, which handbag (Birkin included) and shoe reflects your inner fashionista and, my personal favorite, which designer you would prefer to wear for one year. Choosing between Betsy Johnson and Anthroplogie was a difficult decision.
Julep’s panel of stylist determined I am “Boho Glam,” which I have to say is spot on! The other style profiles they have are American Beauty, Bombshell, Classic With a Twist and It Girl – all amazing things to be!
When you sign up for the new Julep Maven program you get a variety of nail colors, hand creams, and other fun nail and skin products monthly. All of this for just $19.99 a month (but read-on for a special deal below)! That’s less than the cost of a manicure! They launched the program as a way to give all of their girlfriends access to the beauty editor Sneak Peek Box that’s released every month.
According to Julep:
“As a Julep Maven, you will have access to the hottest trends in nail color and the latest Mani Care and Pedi Care products – delivered right to your doorstep, just like the beauty editors do. And you’ll have access to these trends and products before anyone else.”
When I received my Sneak Peek Box, I opened it to find:
- 3 oz Glycolic Hand Scrub (it can be used on your face and hands and totally smells like apricots)
- 1 bottle of a rich chocolate brown nail polish named Olivia
- 1 bottle of minty turquoise nail polish named Miranda
After scrubbing all of the dead skin off of my hands with the hand scrub, I put on two coats of Miranda. The polish is very easy to apply and it has some serious staying power. I didn’t apply a topcoat because it was really shiny on its own and it stayed put for an entire week! Buying a nail polish that doesn’t chip easily is at the top of every Spa Girl’s list!
If you are looking for a cool and unique way to customize your nails this year, I would definitely recommend becoming a Julep Maven!
BONUS: Become a Julep Maven and use code “SPAGIRLS” at checkout to get your first Julep Maven Sneak Peek Box for just $5! (valued at more than $40)!
