Her dress? Valentino Couture. The bling? Fred Leighton. And that hair? Living Proof. The always gorgeous Jennifer Aniston graced the Academy Awards red carpet in a stunning crimson gown and a coif that spoke of her tendency to keep it real. While many stars opted for sweeping updo's and sculpted curls (and a few really short, short haircuts), Jennifer Aniston managed to keep her cool with a style that was sleek yet natural. How did she do it? It's all in the proof.
Living Proof stylist Chris McMillan says, “The key word is natural. She’ll be one of the only people there who is able to actually touch her hair. Jen’s Valentino gown was such a daring fashion choice, so we wanted her hair to make her feel comfortable. I created a look that would last the entire night, from the red carpet to when she presents.”
Well, it worked. She was probably one of the few Oscar presenters who woke up today without a mess of styling product and bobby pins to comb out.
To create Jennifer’s red carpet look, McMillan first washed her hair with Living Proof Full Shampoo ($24) and Full Conditioner ($24). He then applied Prime Style Extender ($20) to her damp hair and massaged it through. Prime acts as a "primer" for hair and extends the style while still allowing the hair to have movement. Using a large round brush, he then blew out her hair straight with a deep, side bang. Finally, he finished the look with Hold Flexible Hairspray ($24), which he sprayed at the roots for height and lightly sprayed on the rest of the hair.
And yes, Jennifer loves the Living Proof hair care line so much that she’s not only the spokesperson but she also bought the company … well, not really (that was for dramatic effect). But she did recently become a co-owner (more here). Although no one has contacted us yet about joining their team, we’ve actually been fans of the Living Proof hair collection for some time (read our review).
