I don’t know about you but the best part of my Super Bowl Sunday was the sheer anticipation of watching the kids of GLEE mashing up one of my all-time favorite Micheal Jackson songs. But, thanks to a little joke by my DVR, I got to watch the beginning of the show and the very end. No “Thriller” mash-up for the Spa Girl. I see a Hulu Plus membership in my near future.
Anyway, if you’re a Gleek, you know what I’m talking ’bout. The show is phenomenal. The folks at Sephora Americas know that too, and they’ve teamed up with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products to develop an exclusive collection of nail colors and prints that speaks to the Gleeks.
The Sephora by OPI GLEE Collection lineup features a limited edition of 10 new nail polishes and three print nail design appliques inspired by the show’s colorful cast, musical numbers and cheeky references. The collection hit all major Sephora stores on February 3 to coincide with the much-anticipated Micheal Jackson’s Thriller episode that aired after last night’s Super Bowl XLV on FOX (urgh, I’m so mad!).
You can catch a glimpse of the new GLEE polishes during the Valentine’s Day episode this Tuesday, February 8, which will feature the characters Mercedes (Amber Riley), Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz), Brittany (Heather Morris), Santana (Naya Rivera) and Lauren Zizes (Ashley Fink) sporting the colors.
Also, as part of its online campaign, Sephora is hosting at Nailed It! Gleek Out Photo Contest on Facebook where fans can upload photos of themselves in GLEE-inspired looks and a Hide and Go Gleek Twitter contest where followers can snag prizes for correctly answering GLEE trivia questions.
Available at most Sephora stores and sephora.com, the Sephora by OPI GLEE Collection Nail Colours are $9.50 each and the press-on GLEE Chic Prints are $15 each. The GLEE 6-Piece Mini Kit is $24 and includes two exclusive mini kit colors including Sue vs. Shu and Express Yourself to Yourself along with with Miss Bossy Pants (guess who that’s named after?) and Slushied.
Oh yeah, and how ’bout those Packers, huh? Now bring on spring training, woohoo!
