Some days call for more pink than others. If your taste in makeup colors changes like the weather, the new HiP High Intensity Pigments Color Presso Lip Glosses from L’Oreal Paris are for you. Just press one side for a single shade or both simultaneously to create a subtle blend of both. The first trick is picking the perfect duo of colors. I chose Swanky, which has a shimmery pale pink on the left and a vibrant pink on the right. Trendy is also a tempting choice for those of you who swing toward the pink. The second trick is figuring out how the new fangled packaging works (remove the perforated safety seal, hold the hooked end and pull from the bottom). The angled, double-wide applicator is vaguely reminiscent of Miss Piggy’s snout, and I found it easiest to dot on the gloss then smear it together. The gloss has a slight hint of a chocolate aroma and a medium shine factor — wet and glossy but not porn-star quality. Also new to L’Oreal’s HiP lineup is the HiP High Intensity Pigments Kohl Eyeliner — a loose powder liner that you glide on like a pencil but has the soft finish of a powder. Although a little messy (I got some tiny flakes the around the eye when applying), props to L’Oreal in the creative packaging department. The stiff yet spongy applicator brush is nifty although a bit rough-edged for my taste. The HiP Presso glosses and HiP Kohl eyeliners are $13 each and are available in most drugstores and mass market stores. For more about L’Oreal cosmetics, visit http://www.lorealparisusa.com.
