I swear on a stack of Spa magazines that I will never eat that much chocolate again. Not until next Valentine’s Day. Or maybe not until…uh…Easter, fer sure. Until then, I’ll find solace in the non-addictive, non-zit forming kind. (Whoever said chocolate does not cause pimples has not met my face. In my completely unscientific opinion, the caffeine-spiked sugar surge causes the hormones to bully underlying bumps to the surface. But don’t go quoting me on that). My latest find is Ganache for Lips, a decadent, all-natural lip balm that comes in the most tempting flavors chocolate mixed with hints of raspberry, orange, mint or hazelnut to name a few. Sure the market is saturated with chocolaty beauty goodness but I like that this one is free of petroleum and mineral oil, both of which totally gross me out (sorry for the 80s slang but I felt it was appropriate). Instead, ingredients include Scharffen Berger Unsweetened Chocolate, shea butter, sweet almond oil and natural extracts. A breast cancer survivor, Ganache for Lips founder Patricia West created the balm in her own kitchen and through her company, supports several animal protection organizations. How sweet is that?
