Gold, silver and bronze are fine if you’re an athlete. But a touch of copper can do wonders if you want a healthy post-workout glow minus the sweat.
The Omorovicza Budapest Copper Peel delivers just that plus a luscious dose of home spa skincare.
First, a little background. The Omorovicza story begins a couple thousand years ago in the gurgling thermal waters of Hungary. Fast forward to modern day and those mineral-rich, curative powers are spun into the thoroughly modern, patented Mineral Cosmetology technology behind the Omorovicza skincare line. You can now find the collection at high-end beauty boutiques and the finest spas across the globe including locally at Alvadora Spa at Royal Palms Resort in Phoenix or The Spa at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North.
But you can also buy it online (hallelujah!) and that’s where our story picks up.
Packaged in a lovely box, the Omorovicza Copper Peel treatment comes in 16 tubes (eight treatments total) to keep the product free of contamination and ensure precise application. Key ingredients in the peel include copper gluconate, which purifies the skin and regulates the production of sebum, and sodium bicarbonate, which along with lactic acid, work together to deeply cleanse the skin while reducing the appearance of those pesky lines and wrinkles. The unique Mineral Cosmetology delivery system enables the products to be absorbed by the epidermis and dermis at unprecedented levels.
The first step is to apply the ocean-colored Copper Peel Paste to the entire face and neck, smoothing the tiny micro beads across the skin and creating a thick layer. A heavenly scent laced with eucalyptus and exotic locales elevates this exfoliation process to a spa-like experience (feel free to close your eyes during this step and think calming thoughts). Take you time but don’t massage the product in completely. The peptide-infused paste is designed to reduce pore size, stimulate collagen and elastic production to firm and lift the skin and calm redness.
The next step is to apply the Copper Peel Activator over top the paste. Be prepared for a slight tingling as the lactic acid foams up to a light mousse (think: the foam of an ocean breaking on shore). This “moussing” action is actually lifting away those dulling skin cells to reveal brighter, smoother skin. Leave the foam on for three minutes and then wipe off with a soft towel.
We highly recommend following up the treatment with an all-over spritzing of Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist ($86), which refreshes the skin like nobody’s business and seals in the good skin vibes. Orange blossom, rose and sage waters mingle with apple pectin and Hungarian thermal waters for hydrated, illuminated skin. Plus, it smells like heaven.
The results of the peel treatment? A healthy, dewy glow and a feeling of cool, clean refreshment. Post-peel skin was silky smooth and perky. After using the treatment once a week over a month, we saw a marked difference in those annoying brown spots too.
Yes, the treatment kit is a pricy $150 but it includes eight applications and the rare, exotic ingredients are carefully procured and not mass produced. If you’re not sure about taking the ding to your pocketbook, try it first at a spa near you. You can read about our own Omorovicza spa experience here. But we can assure you, you won’t be disappointed.
